Ravivar vrat Katha
Sunday is dedicated to God Sun which denotes Power or Tej. Those devotees who perform the fast of Ravivar is always free from every disease. Not jut only this, his or her enemies also decreases or get victory over their enemies and increase name and fame.
Rule of Ravivar Vrat
On the fast of Ravivar, devotees should wake up before sunrise, take a bath and wear clean clothes. Do worship and give ardhya to the Sun. But remember that you can take meal at the end of the day if Sun is in the sky. If due to any reason you cannot take meal in time then take a meal in the next day after the worship of the Sun. In this fast oil and salt is prohibited so you have to eat only sweet meal.
Katha of Ravivar Vrat
In the ancient time, an old lady was living in a town. She performs the fast of God Sun. She always wakes up early in the morning, clear her house and plastering her house by the dung of the cow and worshipped the God Sun. According to the rule of the Ravivar Vrat she took her meal after offering it to God Sun.  She lived a joyful life. That old lady used to gather cow dung from her neighbour.
The wife of her neighbour was jealous to see her happiness so one day she tied her cow in the cow house. Due to this, that old lady could not plaster her house and did not cook the food because of she did not offer food to the deity Sun. The next day she made food and offer it to the God Sun. The God Sun pleased with her and appeared in front of her in the dream. He said, I am pleased to see your hard worship so I give you a cow that gives you everything according to your demand. When that old lady wakes up she saw that a calf was present at her door she arranged food and water for it. After that, the old lady becomes rich and live her life happily.
One day the neighbor lady saw the cow of the old lady, she noticed that the cow dung was gold. She felt jealous of the old lady and change the ordinary dung with gold dung. The God Sun observes the cheating of the neighour lady and ordered to the thunder and rain to go to the earth. That old lady saw the bad weather so she tied her cow in the cow house then she saw that her cow give gold dung and become aware about the cheating of the neighbor lady. After this incident that old lady used to tie her cow in the cow house so the neighbor lady could not exchange the gold dung with ordinary dung.
When she becomes frustrated she go the king and told him the divineness of the cow. The king was greedy so he ordered his soldiers to keep that cow in his palace. On the order of the king, soldiers forcefully tied that cow and carry it in the palace of the king. The old lady cried and weeping for the safety of the cow and prayed to the God Sun to keep safe that cow. God Sun accepted her request and ordered to the king to return that cow to the old lady in his dream. When the king wakes up he became threatened and see the palace is full of cow dung so he ordered to his soldiers to return that cow to the old lady with great respect and also give her money and jewelry.

Sukrawar vrat is dedicated to the God Sukra, Goddess Santoshi Maa and Goddess Laxmi but remember that the rules of the fast are different for all three deties. It is believed that the fast of the Friday is helpful to gain material happyness, marriage, child and money.
Rule for Santoshi Maa Vrat
Santoshi Maa Vrat is always started from the first Friday of the Sukla Paksha of any month. On the day of the friday fast devotee should leave the bed before sunrise then clear the house and make pure house by Gangajal. After that, establish the idol of Santoshi Maa, carry all the pooja items and take juggry and chana on fresh water vessel. Next step is hear complete story of the Santoshi Maa  then distribute the prasad to all devotees. Continue the fast for 16 Friday and on the 16 th Friday perform the Udyapan ritual. For this, invite 8 boys to your home and after the pooja rituals give them meal and prashadam. Not forget that sour items are not allowed for those who take Friday Vrat.
Legend of Santoshi Maa Vrat Katha
Once upon a time there was an old lady who have one son. After the marriage of the son that old lady gives all the responsibilities to her daughter-in law but don’t give him proper meal. The boy saw all the condition of his wife but never argue with his mother. One day he told to his mother that he will going to the city to earn money. To heard this, his mother gave him permission then he asked to his wife that he was going to earn money. After this circumstances one day the daughter-in –law went to the temple where some ladies perform the vrat ritual of Santoshi Maa. These ladies told her that this vrat gives happiness to the family and destroy all sorrows. Then she started to perform the vrat of sukrawar. By the blessings of Mata Santoshi first she get the letter of his husband the his husband get money. Then she decided that when his husband came home she performed the Udyapan ritual.
One day Santosh Maa asked him to go home in the dream of her husband then he said the item of the merchant was not saled due to this he was staying here. In the next morning he asked his merchant to gave him leave but he denied to release him. After some time, whole item of the merchant was saled and he receive the money then merchant gave him permission to went home.
When he reached home his wife told him that she performs the Udyapan ritual and invited to the 8 boys. To see her happiness some ladies feel jealousy and asked their boys to ask for sour meal.She tried for her best to ignore them and gave them some money. Those child bought some imle by that money due to this Santoshi maa became angry and police arrest her husband. She felt sorrow so went to the temple and decided to perform again the Udyapan ritual. After this, she saw her husband he told that the king demanded for the tax. At last she perform the Udyapan successfully and get beautiful child after nine months.

Friday is dedicated to the Sri Vaibhav Laxmi Vrat. It is believed that this fast bless the wealth and happiness to the devotees. Girls, Men and Women can perform this fast but it is said that it is more fruitful to the married women. The fast of Vaibhav Laxmi is performed for continuous 11 and 21 Friday’s.

Once, deity Parvati saw the sufferings of the people of the Earth then she asked to the Lord Shiva “what is the reason that some people have lots of money while some are trying very hard to get money.”
Lord Shiva replied, Goddess Vaibhav Laxmi is the deity of wealth such as money, gold, grains, name and fame so she decided the fate of the people to become rich and poor. Hence, people pray and take fast of Sri Vaibhav Laxmi to please her. Those persons who do not believe and  ignore the deity Laxmi will never tastes success and victory.
After listening the significance of Vaibhav Laxmi, Goddess Parvati requested to the Lord Shiva to narrate the story of her. To hear the request of the Parvati Lord Shiva was pleased and told please Listen carefully about the history of Vaibhav Laxmi.
In the ancient time, sage Bhrugu did harder penance or Tapasya of Goddess Parashakti. To see his hard penance Goddess Parashakti appeared in front of him and asked him for a boon. Then sage Bhrugu asked the Goddess Parashakti, “you are the mother of the whole universe, this world is completely depends on your three forms Power, Intelligence and Money. The form of Power denotes Goddess Parvati that is the wife of Lord Shiva. Your Intelligence form is known as Goddess Saraswati, wife of Lord Brahma. I wish to get your third form Money as a daughter. As per the boon Goddess Laxmi was born in the home of Bhrugu and when she became younger Bhrugu married her to the Lord Vishnu.
After marriage to Lord Vishnu asked Goddess Laxmi to grant enormous wealth to all Gods. But after getting the affluence the king of Gods Indra becazme arrogant and insulted the sage Durvasa due to this sage Durvasa cursed him that Goddess Laxmi was disappearred from everywhere. Because of the influence of the curse Lord Vishnu also felt alone.
When Gods was troubled in the absence of Laxmi they approached to the Lord Vishnu for aid. Then Lord Vishnu suggest to churn the Ksheer Sagar with the help of demons. During the process of Churning Ksheer Sagar many things was appeared that are divided equally among Gods and Demons. Apart from this, Goddess Laxmi was appeared and bless wealth to the Gods. On the request of the king of Gods Goddess Laxmi was emerge in the eight forms that are Aadi Laxmi, Veera Laxmi, Dhanya Laxmi, Santhana Laxmi, Gaja Laxmi, Vidya Laxmi, Vijya Laxmi and Dhana Laxmi.
It is said that, Dhana Laxmi is the best form from the all eight forms. Dhana Laxmi is also known as Vaibhav Laxmi and Aishwarya Laxmi. She was appeared from the Ksheer Sagar so she was recognized as a daughter of the Ksheer Sagar.

Once all sages were met and started a discussion about the Gods. All sages have different opinion about the greatness of the Lord Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. Therefore all the sages were deciding to take an assessment of Lord Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. For this, sage Bhragu went to meet Lord Brahma and Lord Shiva at odd times, both Lords ignored him. At last, he visits to the Vaikunth Lok to meet Lord Vishnu where Goddess Laxmi and Lord Vishnu were busy in playing the dice. They doesn’t acknowledge the sage because of sage Bhrugu feel insulted and hit the heart of the Lord Vishnu by his foot. Then Lord Vishnu hold his feet and asked him about his visit then sage Bhrugu announced him great then any other Lord. But Goddess Laxmi, gets fury and leave Lord Vishnu because he did not punished the sage to hit in her living place.
After this incident, Lord Vishnu turns poor and searched Goddess Laxmi in whole Universe. After a long period he find it in Kolhapur as a daughter of Brahman. Lord Vishnu went to him and give him a proposal of marriage to his daughter. The Brahmin asked him that he have to arrange all the marriage ritual items but he has no money so he went to Kubar God of the money and lend some money for marriage rituals. Later then marriage he get Goddess Laxmi as her wife and turned rich. It is said that, Lord Vishnu pay that debt to the Kuber regularly.
Story of Seela- Suseela-Gunaseela-Vishala
In the ancient time there was a city named Pratishtana Puram. In this city four sisters Seela, Suseela, Gunaseela, Visala were lived with his family. All sisters were dedicated devotee of the Goddess Vaibhav Laxmi. When they turned younger, all married to four wealthy men in the same town. All earn name, fame and money with the time but started to disregard Goddess Vaibhav Laxmi.  
The husband of Sheela was a recognized scholar by his hard work he became wealthy. This wealth gave him ego and he started to ignore the existence of the God due to this Goddess Vaibhav Laxmi decided to teach him a lesson. In a short span his wealth started to decrease and he bound to live his life in poverty.
Susheela’s husband was a commander in the army of the king. He was a great warrior so he was very dear to the king. He also disregard Godess Vaibhav Laxmi so she create such kind of circumstances in which he lost the trust of the king. Due to this, the king ordered to seize his all property and gave him a punishment of imprisionment.
Gunaseela’s husband was a successful trader. He believes that his wealth is due to his trading skills so ignored Goddess Vaibhav Laxmi because of she annoyed with him. Suddenly the trader’s arrogant behaviour made him infamous and other traders made a distance with him so he was moved into poverty.
Visala’s husband is also became a prey of bad habits due to the more wealth. Because of their bad habits like gambling, drinking alcohal etc he loss his all earnings and property.
When all sister’s facing the circumstances of the poverty they prayed to the Goddess Vaibhav Laxmi to help them to gain food  for their childrens. They all are the true devotees of the Goddess Vaibhav Laxmi so she accepted their pray and appears in front of them as a old lady and asked him to perform the fast of


Goddess Vaibhav Laxmi. The fast of Goddess Vaibhav laxmi is very powerful and bless happiness and wealth to the devotees. All four sisters perform the fast as per their capacity, Sheela usd copper bowl, Susheeela used copper coin, Gunasella put silver ornament and Visala put her nose ring in the kalash and worshipped Goddess Vaibhav Laxmi.
Goddess vaibhav Laxmi was pleased to their devotion and blessed them all equally. By the power of the vrat sheela’s husband again gain wealth.
Susheela’s husband gets one more chance to prove itself due to the internal war and get back his position and wealth by the king.
Gunaseelas husband gets heavy demand of the grains and became wealthy.
Visals husband also leave all the bad habits and get his property and money back.
After the completion of the fast all sisters started living happy life with their families.


Shanivar Vrat Katha

God Shani is recognized as a justice of God. It is believed that he gives punishment to people for their bad deeds this is the reason that people afraid of him. Those people who face the dasha of Shani ki sadhesati perform the fast of Saturday.
Rule of Shanivar Vrat:
Saturday is dedicated to the lord Shani so people worshipped God Shani on that day. It is said that kala til, black clothes, Sarso oil and udad dal is dear to the God Shani therefore he is worshipped by all these items.
ShaniVar Vrat katha:
Once all nine planets were fighting with each other to prove itself powerful. To find the solution all Gods were went in the front of God Indra the king of all Gods and ask him for the decision. God indra feeling confused and said I am not capable to give the correct judgement so we all went to the earth. In the Earth there is a famous king named Vikramaditya who is famous for its correct judgement. Then all Gods were visted to the palace of the king Vikramaditya and asked him for the judgement. To hear the problem of the Gods Vikramaditya feeling confused because he known that all Gods have different power and his decision will harmful for him. He took some time for think and asked their servants to carry nine seats or asan of different metal for all nine Gods according to their powers. All nine seats fixed according to their quality and asked all the Gods to take seat. When all Gods take their seats he asked that your problem was solved itself who sit in the first seat he was great.
God Shani became angry to hear his decision and said “Vikramaditya you insulted me so be ready for the punishment. My time period is seven years for any rashi so be careful now its your turn for the punishment.” After this incident, all Gods went to the heaven or Swargalok to hear the judgement but God Shani was unhappy and he want to take revenge.
King Vikramaditya was not afraid from that incident and give the judgement normally. People live happily in the kingdom of the king Vikramaditya but God Shani was searching the opportunity to take revenge.

To take the revenge God Shani disguise itself as a merchant of horse and reached in the city Ujjain. When king Vikramaditya heard about the fair of the horse he ordered his caretaker of the horse to buy a powerful horse but he gave the information that all horses are powerful and precious. Hense Vikramaditya itself went to choose the horse but when he take a test drive of the horse, it runs as fast as thunder. That horse threw him in a forest and being disappeared then king tried to find the way of his kingdom but all in vain. After some time he met with person who was grazing his cow. Vikramaditya drunk his water and gave his ring as a gift. He narrate the way of the city to the king.
When king entered in the city he felt tired so he sat in a shop of the merchant. After this, the shop was packed by the customers and merchant gain more money in the comparision of other
days. Therefore, the merchant take him to his house and offer him meal but at that time a necleus of gold was disappeared. The merchant thought that Vikramaditya theft hid gold necles so he went for the king of his city and asked for the judgement. That king ordered to cut the hand and leg of the king Vikramaditya and leave him on the road.

After some days a oil man carry him in his house and give him a work to make a noise for bulls so they do their work regularly. When the period of Sadhesati was near to complete the pricess of that city was heard the song of the king Vikramaditya. She was impressed by the sonf of the Vikramaditya so she send her maid servant to know about the singer. The Princess maid servant give him the information that the singer have no hand and leg but she already decided to married with the singer. The parents of the princess tried to change her decision but failed and finally get married with him. At that night God Shani came into his dream and said I gave you the punishment of my insult. Then king Vikramaditya pledge sorry to the God Shani and said don’t give anybody this kind of sentence. God Shani accepted his appeal and said who worshipped me at Saturday and perform fast I always bless them.

Next morning when king was wake up he find that he have hand and leg. He felt happy and give thanks to the lord Shani. When his wife saw him she was surprised then king Vikramaditya narrate him all incident. The merchant also heard that miracle so he also came at the oil man’s house and pledge sorry to the Vikramaditya and he also find his gold neckles. That merchant also married his daughter with the king Vikramaditya and gifted him lots of money and jewellery.

When king reached into his kingdom he announced that God Shani is great in the comparision of other Gods. After this incident all people perform the fast of God Shani and get his blessings.

In India Karwa Chauth has its major significance among married woman. It is believed that the fast of Karwa Chauth bless prosperity and longevity to the husbands. But remember that fast of Karwa Chauth has hard and fast rules and all devotees should have to obey all rules. There are many legends related to Karwa Chauth.
The Legend from Mahabharat:
The importance and power of this fast also mention in the Hindu epic Mahabharat. According to the Mahabharat, Draupadi took the fast of Karwa Chauth to overcome from the problems. Once Arjun went for penance on the Nilgiri Mountain, at that time Pandavas faced various problems. During this tough period Draupadi remembered Lord Krishna for help. To hear the problem of Draupadi Lord Krishna gives her advice to perform Karwa Chauth fast. On the advice of Lord Krishna she followed all the instructions of  the Karwa Chauth fast and finally get rid of the problems.
The Legend of Karva:
In the ancient time, a woman was extremely faithful to her husband. One day her husband went to the forest to take a bath in the river. During bathing a crocodile caught him when Karwa saw that she ran and leap that crocodile with a cotton thread. After this incident, she went to the Yampuri to meet with Yamraj God of death. She requested to the Yamraj to send that crocodile in the hell. When Yamraj refused her offer, Karwa threatened him that if he ignore her she will give him a curse. Yamraj know that she is a loyal and devoted wife so he accept to send crocodile in hell as well as bless his husband long and fruitful life.
The Story of Queen Veeravati:
A long time before, a beautiful girl named Veeravati was lived with her seven brothers. When she became younger her brothers married her with a king. On her first Karwa Chauth she came to her parents house and celebrate her fast with her sister’s-in –Law. She observed all the strict rules of the fast of Karwa Chauth but while sunrise she feels hungry and waiting eagerly for the moon. When her brothers saw that their loving sister is hungry they offer her food but she rejected and said that first she saw the moon after that she take a meal. To hear this, all brothers feeling disturbs and make a plan to break the fast of their sister. They fire the Pipal tree leaves and asked to her sister that moon was rising, she narrates her Sisters-in –Law the same thing but they warn her that this is a conspiracy of his brothers. But she believed blindly on her brothers so she opened the fast but after this she receives a news about her husband’s illness.
Veeravati returned to her husband’s palace, fortunately she met with Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati on the way. Goddess Parvati informed her that her husband had died because of her mistake. Then she requested to the Goddess Parvati to forgive her mistake and returned her husband’s life. To hear her grievance Goddess Parvati bless her husband’s life but gave her warning to perform strictly all the rules of the fast.

Tuesday Fast or Mangalwar Vrat
Tuesday is dedicated to the Lord Hanuman that is very dear to Lord Rama. Mangal is also denoted the planet named Mars, that is a symbol of strength, courage, child, efforts and honour. As per the Hindu astrology, the fast of Mangalwar is must for those devotees whose Mars is weak or sit in the sin house.  It is believed that by observing the fast on Tuesday all sins will remove, all desires will be fulfill and help their devotees to overcome from difficulties in their life.

Mangalwar Vrat Rule
Those devotees who perform Tuesday fast should take a single meal in a day. In the morning they have to wear red colour clothes, worship Lord Hanuman, offer them red colour flowers, read the Mangalwar Vrat Katha and after sunset does Aarti then offer wheat and jaggery to the Lord Hanuman. According to the Brahmins the fast of the Tuesday is observed for 21 Tuesdays continuously.

In the ancient time a Brahmin couple was living in a village. They have no child this is the only reason of their unhappiness. Once Brahmin was going to the forest to please Lord Hanuman and his wife started observing Tuesday fast to get a child. One day she performs a fast due to this she could not offer a meal to Lord Hanuman due to this she decided to take fast regularly for the next Tuesday. But owing to the long fast duration she becomes fainted, to see her strong will power Lord Hanuman felt pity on her and appeared before the lady in a disguise of a child. Lord Hanuman gave him a boon of faithful child who serves them day and night.
After some time that lady gave a birth to a beautiful child she called him Mangal. When the Brahmin returned to his house she asked his wife about the child. Then the Lady narrates the whole story to her husband but Brahmin did not believe her and think she is a chase lady. That lady tries her best to win his believe but the behavior of his husband remains same.
One day Brahmin was going to take his bath in the forest well. The lady asks him to take Mangal along with him. Brahmin takes it as an opportunity to kill Mangal and save his honour. When he reached near the well Brahmin ordered Mangal to fetch water from the well. As the Mangal started to fetch water Brahmin pushed him into the well and returned to the house. 
To see the Brahmin alone lady asked him about Mangal. Now Brahmin felt guilty and puzzled, suddenly Mangal appeared in the front of them and embraced their parent by touching feet. After this incident Lord Hanuman came into his dream and asked Mangal is his own son and his wife is pure. Then Brahmin realized his mistake and they both observed Tuesday fast regularly.
It is a saying that Lord Hanuman save their devotees from all the bad evils and bless them happy life.

आरती कीजै हनुमान लला की  दुष्ट दलन रघुनाथ कला की ।।

पैठि पताल तोरि जमकारे  अहिरावण की भुजा उखारे ।।
बाईं भुजा असुर संहारे  दाईं भुजा संत जन तारे ।।
